This company is a classified world leader in air traffic control. Supplying both public and defence markets, they design and manufacture high quality products, tailored to the requirements of each individual client. Operating out of their UK site in Cambridgeshire, they work in over 160 countries and supply to over 80 per cent of the world's aerospace and aviation markets.
In this varied and exciting position you will be based in the commercial department, which encompasses pricing, export control, international shipping and despatch, order processing, business security, risk management, administration of sales agents and commission payment.
During your time in this team you will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of areas by working on day to day tasks and individual projects, including process improvements. The experience gained will help enable you to participate in job rotations within the company giving you further exposure to different roles.
Once complete, the individual is expected to specialise in one area or to build upon this knowledge to pursue a career down a generalist "commercial" management path. The programme will include assignments across different commercial areas for example:
- Finance ? Strategic pricing, costing, VAT and taxes relating to export and import
- Commercial ? export control, shipping, commission payments
- Orders and Contracts ? managing obligations and liabilities and the assignments will involve exposure to other areas including;
- Sales ? Supporting bids and proposals preparation
- Procurement ? sub contract and supply chain management
- Project Management
Requirements:
- 2:2 degree or higher in any discipline - although business and technical degrees are preferable
- Extensive use of excel spreadsheets is desirable
- Commercially astute with a results-driven attitude
- Strong communicator
- Disciplined approach
- Team player who uses initiative
- Strong analytical skills
- Hands on approach with a willingness to tackle low level as well as high level tasks
- Willing to go the extra mile to meet internal and external customer deadlines
