What type of things will I be working on?
On this 12-month industrial placement, starting September 2024, you will work within our Additive Manufacturing division where you’ll interact with cutting edge technology providing an excellent insight into how a new product is introduced into the manufacturing organisation.
You will be given relevant projects and responsibilities related to your interests and discipline studied. The entire placement is spent within the Additive Manufacturing division, within our process development team, contributing directly to new products and developing capable and robust assembly process.
The type of work will vary between:
- New product design/ development
- Process engineering & Assembly development
- Tooling jigs, fixtures and rigs
- Advanced assembly manufacturing tools such as robots, vision systems, part feeding and presentation systems
- Development of soft skills through support of production focussed teams
All of this work will be under the guidance of senior engineers who will help broaden and strengthen your technical and commercials skills.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites in Miskin manufacturing facility in South Wales. As Renishaw sites are based in semi-rural locations, applicants must have their own form of transport or be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need and how do I apply?
This industrial placement scheme is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course. We encourage applications from all relevant engineering disciplines.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in engineering will be strongly considered.
