The business role is often to support collaboration and help bring teams together.
Business roles are at the core of the work the Civil Service does and the business apprenticeship scheme offers a wide variety of posts across the organisation.
You ll be working within an exciting and fast-paced environment and have the opportunity to develop valuable skills in organisation, planning and problem-solving.
This is a two-year level 4 apprenticeship with a salary between £19,500 and £27,000 (£22,000 minimum in London).
What you ll do
Teamwork and collaboration are essential in all business areas. Often the role of a business apprentice is to support this collaboration and help bring teams together. For example, you could be organising meetings or managing communications. A significant number of the business apprentice roles are also dynamic and customer-facing.
Your role could include:
work coach at the Department for Work and Pensions
paralegal officer at the Crown Prosecution Service
corporate support officer
HR officer
policy adviser
diary manager
project and programme support officer
What we re looking for
We want people with good skills in communication, problem-solving and organisation. You ll also develop these skills throughout the apprenticeship.
We re looking for apprentices who:
have a real interest in the way an organisation operates
have a desire to help the organisation achieve its objectives as effectively as possible
recognise how the work they do contributes to providing a vital service to the public
are keen to reflect on their performance, and learn and improve
support others in their workplace to do the same
Entry requirements
You ll need 5 GCSEs at grade C and above, or the new grade 4 and above, including English Language and Maths, or equivalent. (Or expect to have these qualifications by 31 August 2017.)
You ll also need to check you meet the general entry requirements, such as age, nationality and residency.
