By doing so, you will attain and hone your own networking, client-management and business-development skills.

During this time, you will also read for industry exams offered by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). At the end of the course, you will be prepared to head into your career as a fully-qualified Wealth Adviser.

Malta training

This will include personal time with our CEO, Nigel Green. Nigel has built deVere to the special company it is today in just 12 years, helping a lot of people along the way become very successful. Spending time in Malta with him will pay massive dividends for your immediate training and motivation, as well as your long-term career.

With over 200 personnel, our Malta operations centre supports our field offices, wealth advisers and managers. It houses our foreign exchange (FX) and investment teams, as well as our recruitment, training, marketing, IT and legal departments. It even has a large gym too! So it's a great place to start learning how the business works. You will gain valuable experience of how to deal with existing high-net-worth (HNW) clients and potential clients.

You will also get trained by some of our top wealth advisers, and work with our fx trading and recruitment teams. This hands-on approach will greatly fast-track and develop the required sales and investment product knowledge you will need, building the foundations for your future success.

During your time in Malta you will also study for and sit the first of the Chartered Insititute of Securities and Investment (CISI) examinations, which is the first step towards becoming a fully qualified Wealth Adviser. 70% of our graduates have business degrees, however we will train and support you through every step, even if you do not have a business degree.

Month two - First country office:

After graduating from the Malta training programme you will go back to the UK for a short time to prepare for the move to your first office location. Your office posting will have been carefully discussed and chosen with you in the final week in Malta, taking into consideration the best opportunities available that compliment both your personality and the strengths you have developed and enhanced during training.

Each country and city location has its own idiosyncrasies. You will have been in contact with your country manager to arrange a settling in plan, and together with the head of training agreed a business plan for the next few months. You will also have had discussions with the Wealth Managers you will be working alongside. You will normally be mentored by the Area Manager and his New Business Coordinator. Throughout this period you will be building heavily on the experience and knowledge you gained in our Client Services Department. At the end of each month your Area Manager will review your training and progress.

Six to twelve months:

Throughout your training you will attend the product meetings and product training held by the management team and by visiting investment companies. You will be involved in setting up and attending client seminars to gain real insight into working with and presenting to existing and potential HNW clients. You will study and sit the second CISI exam. The International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management.

Month twelve to fifteen:

Each week you will be accompanying a wealth adviser on one existing client review. Product training will continue to be the focus. If it is necessary for your location you will study for and take relevant local examinations.

Month fifteen to eighteen:

You will accompany your adviser or manager on one client visit each week. With only 3 months to go until your adviser course you will be concentrating on sales training. Where possible you will be mentoring a new graduate trainee wealth adviser and training them on their first 3 month module. At the end of this period you will return to Malta to complete your graduate training by attending a Wealth Adviser course.

Wealth Advisor/Wealth Manager:

After successfully completing your training and the Wealth Adviser course you will be a professional adviser and be ready to take on your own clients. Success and progress is based upon your results. The above sets out our approximate timings. So, for certain individuals who are able to progress faster, we will expedite the process.
