Overview...
Our electrical engineering team work to keep London moving above and below the surface, from the high voltage, heavy current power supplies running the trains, signalling and control systems optimising railway capacity and keeping customers safe, to the drive and control systems which operate trains and traffic lights.
Entry requirements...
You must have a 2:2 (or higher) IET accredited* BEng or MEng in electrical, electronic or mechatronic engineering (or a related degree).
*If you studied for your degree outside the UK and it's recognised by EUR-ACE label, or Washington Accord, this will be accepted in place of IET accreditation.

This scheme offers a mix of strategic, engineering and operational placements. This will give you a broad grounding in engineering and a good understanding of what drives our business and how we deliver. You'll be working alongside:
• Specialist engineers working across the whole life-cycle of a wide variety of systems
•Safety, quality and environmental professionals
•Railway operational managers
•Transport planners
•Marketing and commercial experts
•Other TfL transport modes such as DLR or road traffic management
Throughout, you'll be supported by a scheme sponsor and a professional mentor - both chartered engineers. We'll also team you up with informal 'buddies' who have similar backgrounds, interests and responsibilities to you.
The learning & development team will also be on hand to provide all you need to create an action plan that meets your unique technical and professional interests, and ultimately helps you to achieve incorporated or chartered status.
Based on a satisfactory performance, we'll offer you a role that perfectly matches your skills and experience to our business needs, after the scheme.
