My client is a very specialist company focused on engineering computation and simulation. They provide their clients in the oil and gas, aeronautical and geotechnical industries (among others) with leading software solutions. Computational Mechanics and Corrosion Management are key areas of work for my client. Established since the late 1970's my client is a well-respected and leading firm in this niche area.
As a Technical Support and Development Engineer you will be involved in certain key areas of work;
Firstly you will be involved in advanced modelling consultancy projects, analysing, meshing and zoning models of large scale structures.
As you progress you will also be involved in delivering training courses on the practical application of their software.
Responsibility is given early on and if you have what it takes you will be able to travel internationally to present conferences, take on advanced training and visit clients.
Requirements:
- A strong academic background with a 2:1 degree from a top 30 University and a minimum of 320 UCAS points.
- A technical subject at degree level relevant to this field i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or related Engineering courses, or Maths and Physics.
- If you have studied a Master's this would be an advantage.
- Technical ability and competency with programming in C, C++, Java or Fortran.
- Software used throughout engineering degrees will be an advantage such as CFD, FEA etc.
- You will be an accurate, organised individual with good time management skills.
- Strong team player, looking to expand your knowledge quickly.
- A driven and proactive personality and able to communicate effectively and confidently.
- A driving licence and own transport would be advantageous.
- Portuguese or Chinese language skills would be an advantage but not essential.
