Graduate Bid Writer and Commercial Executive
This unique role is designed to build skills and knowledge within bid writing and bid management, as well as developing knowledge of commercial management and pricing and costing functions within the commercial department. This is a fantastic role as you will be working on projects across all three functions, gaining brilliant exposure across the business, a true breadth of experience and opportunity to work alongside senior stakeholders. Whilst this is a permanent role it does have the feel of a graduate scheme as you will gain experience in three key departments.
This is a permanent role, ideally to start in October and is paying £21,600 to £26K depending on experience.
What Could You be Doing?:
Bid Management
- Actively support and participate in the bid writing process
- Conducting research from multiple sources
- Writing responses to customers
- Writing bids and proposals
- Responding to questionnaires
- Dealing with new supplier registrations
Commercial Management
- Deal with contractual risks around tenders and bids
- Interacting with legal and tax experts
- Drafting contracts
- Learning about risks involved in global bids
Pricing and Costing
- Using pricing models and templates to produce estimates for projects
- Produce basic statistical information on bid performance
- Learning how to produce a pricing strategy for a project
What do You Need?
- Ideally a 2:1 degree or above (or equivalent) in a subject with a strong writing or commercial focus
- Degrees in English, humanities, classics, economics or business would be ideal
- Strong research and writing skills with a desire to work in a writing focused role
- Aptitude for or experience with Excel
- An interest in geopolitics would be useful
- No experience is required, however those with experience in bid writing, editing, proof-reading or within a commercial department of a business would be a strong bonus
