Our client is Britain's biggest airline carrier measured by number of passengers carried, operating domestic and international scheduled services on over 600 routes in 32 countries.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Working within the Operations Control Centre, the Network Performance and Standards Analyst is responsible for providing analysis, tools and models to monitor and improve performance across the network, crew and roster communities.
The role will support the development of the roster strategy using data and modelling to validate the impacts of change in the short, medium and long term. You will need to be a highly analytical individual, who works confidently with numbers and people.
You will be a self-starter who is able to explain complex data and information in a simple way to the business. The Network Performance and Standards Analyst will be able to design and build analytical dashboards that can be used in the day to day running of the operation to support decision making and deliver on time performance
Provide detailed analysis, actionable recommendations, process improvements and decision support tools through rigorous analysis, collaboration with subject matter experts, model design, development and implementation. The aim is to drive effective utilisation of resources given business constraints, technology and costs.
Day-to-day activities will include:
- Own analysis from problem definition through implementation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable and continuous improvement.
- Provide project management for the implementation of business process and systems change
- Identify opportunities to improve risk and cost management; propose improvements to optimise the operational performance.
- Support new projects, business requirements gathering, analysis, prioritisation and documentation.
- Develop detailed analysis, recommendations and decision support tools through rigorous analysis, collaboration with subject matter experts, model design, development and implementation.
- Develop tools to enable the operations team to effectively manage resource using insightful data
- Create support processes for all tools developed.
- Summarize complex analyses into simple terms and clearly communicate to all levels of the organization including senior management.
- Work independently and have accountability for multiple concurrent projects while delivering accurate and appropriate findings.
- Provide support with ad-hoc data extraction, analysis, modelling and visualisation as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the FTL post-holders accountabilities by respecting the Safety Management System and being alert to any compromise of airworthy aircraft, safe procedure and serviceable operating equipment.
What are your key candidate requirements for the role?
- Degree post graduate qualification in Operations Research, or a numericalanalytical subject or equivalent business experience.
- Proven experience of working in a numerical, analytical and problem solving role in a product or service related industry.
- Expert MS Excel skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, VBA, Solver and Analysis ToolPak. Previous experience working with MS Access SQL Tableau and statistical analysis tools.
- Ability to create processes to clean AIMS report to convert into a usable format.
- Excellent planning, organisation and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, at all level of the organisation, in oral and written forms.
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong influencing, negotiation and consultative skills.
- Good understanding of formal process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean or similar.
- Practical database skills with focus on data extraction and transformation into actionable insights.
- Creative approach to data visualisation and presentation.
- Willingness to learn and keep up to date on the latest developments in business analytics operations research.
