Highways England is a government owned company. Responsible for maintaining and modernising England's motorways and major A roads, we keep England moving. And with advances in technology, like smart motorways, and £11 billion being invested in road improvements in the next five years, there's never been a better time to get on board.
The Programme:
Join our three-year graduate training programme and you'll acquire all the skills and knowledge you need to become a member of the APM. You'll get to take up on-the-job training placements complemented by professional training. Then at the end of the programme, we'll reward you with a guaranteed job at your pay band - and an interview for a chance at promotion.
The Role:
This is your chance to direct your own learning supported by senior colleagues. Together you will plan a series of placements internally and with external companies to enrich your expertise. We'll expect you to act as an ambassador for the company at all times as you undertake technical and management activities to support the delivery of business requirements.
This will include minimising safety risks. You'll also receive recognised training to complement your on-the-job learning.
About You:
You hold a degree or equivalent, at a 2:2 Honours level or higher. What's more, you'll be able to demonstrate experience of project management during your education. Able to deliver at pace, you'll thrive in our dynamic environment. You pride yourself on your integrity, and you'll focus on quality, efficiency and providing value for money for customers. What's more, you're known for your team-working and communication skills and you'll build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
