Dynamic organisations know they need to apply both reason and instinct to decision making. At Grant Thornton UK LLP, this is how we advise our clients every day. We combine award-winning technical expertise with the intuition, insight and confidence gained from our extensive sector experience and a deeper understanding of our clients.
Through empowered client service teams, approachable partners and shorter decision making chains, we provide a wider point of view and operate in a way that's as fast and agile as our clients. The real benefit for dynamic organisations is more meaningful and forward-looking advice that can help to unlock their potential for growth.
Our trainees tell us that there's never a dull day when working in audit. The variety and challenge is what keeps it exciting and being part of something that's fundamentally right at the heart of business gets them out of bed each morning. As a trainee, you 'll be working with and advising dynamic organisations of all different sizes and from a wide range of sectors, delivering effective and innovative solutions to help unlock their potential for growth. You'll be central to their growth journey; as a trusted adviser you'll be helping them achieve their ambitions and taking them from where they are to where they want to be. Alongside this, you will be studying for your professional qualification.
What you'll be doing:
Within the audit team, you'll be expected to assist with all aspects of the audit process, establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and get involved to meet the demands of the business.
You'll be expected to:
- complete audit tests in all sections, including fixed assets, stock, sales, debtors, intragroup balances, statutory salaries and wages
- obtain an understanding of client's business and analysing client issues, reaching logical conclusions by applying theory to practise
- complete account preparation assignments
- establish good relationships with colleagues
- efficiently use appropriate software packages (Explorer, auditCARE, SAPA)
As you become more experienced in the team, you will be expected to take on increased responsibilities, including leading assignments and taking responsibility for all aspects of planning, completion and fieldwork management.
Education and Qualifications:
