What Will You Be Doing?
During our 36-month graduate finance scheme, starting September 2024, you will get the opportunity to work across and develop skills in a wide range of financial and accounting areas, from management accounting through to commercial business partnering. Whilst gaining this broad experience you’ll be studying for your accountancy qualification with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
You will start off with an in-depth induction alongside all our graduates, giving you a broad overview of the Post Office structure and functions. You will then be placed in one of the Post Office’s finance teams where you will then rotate around different areas of finance throughout the scheme, giving you broad exposure and the chance to work out what you love doing. Our key functions are:
- Financial Accounting – management of financial processes & controls and production of external financial reporting.
- Management Accounting – internal accounting and reporting to support commercial finance teams and wider business functions.
- Operational Finance – critical operational processes such as settlement, billing and accounts payable.
- Commercial Finance – financial business partnering and forecasting for business functions.
- Financial Planning & Analysis – financial modelling, forecasting and reporting for strategic decision making.
- Treasury – daily banking operations and short-, medium- and long-term liquidity management.
- Taxation – tax compliance and planning.

What Are We Looking For?
- Graduate with a 2:2 or higher degree classification. A finance and/or accountancy degree is not a prerequisite. All subject backgrounds will be considered.
- Desire to learn and develop new skills.
