Exciting new start-up that works with financial institutions and government organisations to detect and prevent fraud, financial crime and non-compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful start-up company as a graduate Data Scientist or software engineer. This role will involve a mix of data analytics, computer programming and customer communication.
The day to day responsibilities will be as follows:
- Working onsite with clients, on projects to solve business problems in the area of fraud, compliance and financial crime
- Understand the criminal patterns of behaviour and determine how to best implement a system to detect them
- Conduct in-depth data analysis, using leading technologies and coding languages, to look for inappropriate and criminal behaviour
- Automating that analysis to proactively alert on high risk activity on an on-going basis
- Communicating your results back to the business in a clear concise style
- Conducting software development to build out reusable solutions based on leading technologies
- Design generic and repeatable pieces of software that are reusable across multiple different fraud and compliance challenges
- Technical development using leading coding languages and technologies
Essential skills
- Min 2.1 level in Maths, Computer Science, Physics, Data Science or related
- Top 30 university
- Good problem solving skills and logical thought process
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to communicate results effectively
- Knowledge of or more of the following ? Scala, Spark, Hadoop , SAS, R, SQL, Python, Java or similar
- Excellent IT skills with some programming knowledge
