This firm is one of the UK's largest retail banking groups. Their goal is to be the best financial services provider in the UK.
They are seeking candidates with 6 - 12 months + professional experience in a transferrable field.
Working within the Asset Finance Credit Risk team, you will have responsibilities in a number of key areas, including acquisition risk, portfolio risk, collections and recoveries, and impairment and capital. You'll be tasked with finding the answers to some key questions facing the business.
Additionally you'll support strategic projects through detailed analysis and testing, working with other product risk teams on initiatives that benefit the customer experience. You'll also work closely with other people in the team, as well as partnering with business functions such as Finance, Products and Risk Infrastructure.
Duties include:
- Supporting key strategic projects through detailed analysis and insight into customer behaviour, credit performance and profitability, in order to shape value-creating lending strategies within the business.
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior management and stakeholders, communicate and drive through their delivery.
- Generate key management information, interpret complex data using statistical techniques and provide insights to support business direction setting.
- Build and manage effective relationships with colleagues in the wider Risk team and across partnering business functions (such as Products, Finance, Customer Analytics and Risk Infrastructure).
- Support and coach junior analysts within the team.
This role can be worked from their Cardiff OR London office and offers flexible working hours.
Requirements:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a highly analytical and numerate discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, IT or similar).
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 6 - 12 months or more professional experience in Credit Risk or a transferrable field.
- Advanced exposure to SAS or SQL and excellent Excel skills.
Desired Skills:
- A good understanding of credit risk techniques and able to apply these independently.
