Summer Internship – Finance Department
The Mizuho Finance team provides support to both Mizuho International plc (MHI) and Mizuho Bank, Ltd., London Branch (MHBK), encompassing a wide spectrum of internal clients including the MHI Board and its sub-committees, MHSC (as the shareholder of MHI), Senior Management, Head Office and the business lines. It fulfils the role and responsibility of providing internal and external financial measurement and reporting on business performance to management and all areas of the global organisation.
What will I be doing?
Over the course of your 10-week internship, you will gain hands-on experience across the Finance Department, rotating through its specialist teams and supporting on live projects. Typical responsibilities may include:
- Financial Control – assisting with published accounts, management reporting, and business planning activities.
- Product Control / Product Accounting – supporting financial reporting and control functions, including balance sheet valuation, and working closely with Risk Management.
- Regulatory Reporting – contributing to the calculation, monitoring, and reporting of regulatory capital and liquidity to senior management and regulators.
- Tax – helping with tax policy and compliance processes, including interactions with tax authorities.
- Procurement & Accounts Payable – assisting with contract negotiations, supplier management, and processing non-trading cashflows.
This internship will give you broad experience across the Finance function, helping you understand how financial information underpins decision-making in a global investment bank.
Successful interns will be offered a place on our Graduate Programme starting in September 2027.

What are we looking for?
You must be:
- In your penultimate year of undergraduate study, with an expected graduation in 2027 (please ensure this is clearly stated on your CV and updated on your GRB profile).
- Available for full-time employment from September 2027.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn about finance in an investment banking environment.
- A strong communicator who enjoys working with data and solving problems.
Knowledge of accounting, regulatory reporting, or financial services is an advantage, but not essential.
