At Mizuho, we offer a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a global investment bank, working on real projects, whilst developing a strong professional network within a bank that prides itself on its inclusive, cooperative and friendly company culture.
We offer the best of both worlds - the feeling of a boutique work environment within a global organisation. Our steady growth in EMEA gives our people at all levels rewarding degrees of responsibility and a richer work experience than a small firm or an established giant could offer alone.
The Markets department at Mizuho is a dynamic, client-focused division delivering a comprehensive suite of financial services across Fixed Income, FX, Structuring and Equities to institutional clients globally.
What will I be doing?
The Markets department at Mizuho is a dynamic, client-focused division delivering a comprehensive suite of financial services across Fixed Income, FX, Structuring and Equities to institutional clients globally.
The Markets department plays a key role in Mizuho’s CIB strategy, with integrated operations across MHI, MHBKL and MBE, and a strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and regulatory excellence.
Over 10 weeks, you’ll work directly with our Global Markets Sales & Trading teams, gaining hands-on experience across our product offering, including:
- Macro business: It offers solutions across European government bonds, supranational (SSA) bonds, interest rate swaps, FX spot and forwards, local currency trading and repo financing. These activities are driven by macroeconomic trends, central bank policy, and client hedging needs, and are executed through all three entities in EMEA.
- Credit Business: The Credit desk covers flow credit across corporates and financials, high-yield and investment-grade bonds, and emerging market debt. This area is closely aligned with Debt Capital Markets (DCM), providing liquidity and pricing support for new issuances and secondary market trading.
- Loans: The secondary loans business supports the distribution of primary loan facilities to the institutional investor base. This function plays a critical role in supporting liquidity management and facilitating risk transfer for corporate banking clients and providing secondary market making capability to investor clients.
- Structured Financing: Structured Financing develops bespoke solutions utilising the spectrum of financing products to meet the specific needs of our client base.
This internship will give you direct insight into how macroeconomic trends, central bank policy, and client requirements drive activity across the markets.
Successful interns will be offered a place on our Graduate Programme starting in September 2027.
