Data drives every aspect of their operations and forms the foundation of their decision-making processes.
**The Role**
This position is focused on supporting, optimising, and evolving the internal toolset that underpins service delivery across the organisation. While the team makes significant use of the Elastic suite (including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats), you’ll also collaborate within a broader Data Science function engaged with advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, Databricks, Node.js, and GraphQL.
Join a collaborative engineering environment where you'll work alongside multiple development teams to ensure data streams are accurate, reliable, and effectively integrated into our systems. You’ll also provide mentorship to junior engineers, supporting them in designing and implementing technical solutions.
Expect to be actively involved in code reviews, cross-team development initiatives, and knowledge sharing sessions—while building strong working relationships across the wider organisation.

To be successful in your application, you will require:
- Deep expertise in scalable observability platforms—particularly the Elastic suite
- Experience handling a variety of data types across operational workflows and business analytics, including building reporting mechanisms and real-time alert systems. Familiarity with high-throughput, live data environments is key, as is an understanding of the unique technical challenges they pose.
- A solid grasp of cloud-native tools within Azure, especially services like Event Hubs and other data streaming or transformation solutions, is essential
- Experience writing scripts to supporting automation or data tasks—Python is a plus
- Prior mentorship of junior team members and helping them grow
- Strong communication skills—both written and spoken—as you’ll regularly collaborate across disciplines and contribute to team-driven success
