Renishaw offers exciting opportunities for placement students on a year-long immersion programme designed to develop ambitious, talented, and self-motivated individuals into skilled experts in their chosen field.
What Will I Gain From This Placement Year?
Each placement will involve working on live projects under the guidance and expertise of experienced colleagues. As well as gaining hands on experience in your chosen field, you will have the opportunity to connect with people working in the business and discuss your career ambitions and ideas with employees in similar roles.
There are two pathways for this placement: mechanical engineer or manufacturing mechanical engineer.
Prior to assessment centres, we will call you to discuss your preferences and which pathway may be the best fit.
These industrial placements at Renishaw will involve you being fully integrated into the team, where you will be mentored and supported by the technical staff and our senior managers.
You will be working on real engineering projects that will involve component design and modelling, process design, dynamic analysis, design for manufacture, mechanisms and control, and experimental design verification. Using the latest software applications, in-house development processes, technologies and practical skills will give a real insight into engineering business and how we develop and manufacture innovative new products.
You will be treated as a full-time member of the function with the same responsibilities and growth opportunities. A successful placement provides an excellent opportunity for you to be considered for a graduate scheme position in the future.
Where Will I Be Working?
This role is based at our sites in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the local area. The sites are around 25-30 minutes’ drive from Bristol so easily commutable by car.
What Do I Need?
Applicants must be studying for a degree in any STEM subject.
