What type of things will I be working on?
On this 12-month industrial placement, starting September 2025, you will get the opportunity to be involved in the HR systems team. You day to day activities will include:
Preparation of guides for employees, managers and HR on the use of the HR Information System, including videos, Workday courses and documents.
Work alongside the HRIS Specialists/Analysts on the continued improvement of our HR Information System and management information. Great opportunity to understand the Workday system and develop skills in system configuration and analysis.
- Support as needed with incoming queries and tickets to the HRIS team.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants must ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options will be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need?
This placement scheme is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course and are studying for a relevant degree.
Skills Required:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to pick up new systems quickly, including basic use of Workday and use of Camtasia video-editing system.
- Ability to explain to users, either in writing, face to face or via video guides, how to use the Workday system (after appropriate training and with support from the HRIS team).
- Confidentiality, discretion, initiative and good judgement.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organised and able to manage own time.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest will be strongly considered.
