Summer Internship - Operations Department

The Internship programme is a 10-week programme starting in June 2025.  The aim is that successful interns will be offered a permanent position on the 2026 Mizuho Graduate Programme (commencing September 2026).

Your salary is highly competitive, in line with salaries offered by other London Corporate Investment Banks.

What will I be doing?

As an intern in the Operations department, you will gain exposure to all departments firm-wide (including Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Technology & Finance) and develop a strong understanding of the businesses we support, trade life-cycle and regulatory landscape. 

Our Operations department works closely with multiple business lines in the front office, providing essential pre- and post-trade support for transactions in Fixed Income, Equities, Structured Finance, and Derivative markets. Operations plays a key role in ensuring an optimal, end-to-end service for our clients.

You’ll work with various teams within Operations, such as Business Management, Network Management, Middle Office, Collateral Management, Client Onboarding, and Settlements. You’ll learn the end-to-end processes that support the life cycle of a transaction, and you’ll be involved in supporting new business proposals, navigating regulatory changes, and driving initiatives to improve department efficiency.

What skills and qualifications do I need? 

Applicants to the Mizuho 2025 Intern Programme will be in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and be available for permanent employment from September 2026.

While experience in the field is not required, we expect you to have a keen, well-researched interest in Operations and the financial services sector, ideally demonstrated through your chosen field of study (any degree discipline).
