Wipac design and manufacture exterior lighting products for the world's premium car makers. We are technology leaders in this market, with the majority of our products utilising high powered LEDs in both front and rear lighting applications.
Extensive design, development and test facilities combined with state of the art, manufacturing allow us to offer complete service and deliver products to the quality levels required by the most discerning of customers.
The selected candidates will work as part of the team responsible for design and development of Automotive LED lighting products for OEM projects. Through training and experience gained in the role you will develop to be fully responsible for individual projects.
Direct involvement in the project at every level from customer - exclusive vehicle manufacturers such as McLaren, Aston Martin and Bentley - to supplier, with occasional travel abroad is expected as part of the role.
In return we offer a competitive salary for a 37 hour week, 08.00 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday, 08.00 - 13.00 on a Friday. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays per annum and a contributory pension scheme after three months with the Company.
Required:
- Educated to degree or HND level in mechanical design, engineering or industrial design
- Confident use of engineering physics and mathematics, with strong grades at GCSE, A level or equivalent
- Experience of 2D and 3D CAD modelling in Catia or similar software package
- Experience of CAE simulation, either FEA or CFD in Ansys or similar software package
- Detailed knowledge of design for manufacture, including injection moulding
- Knowledge of advanced prototyping methods and materials
- Good team working and communications skills. Good PC skills inc. Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Work experience in an automotive or manufacturing biased Company
- Knowledge or experience of Automotive design and engineering with an interest in the industry
- Interest and ability in industrial design with experience in visual rendering and concept development
