Thales UK Research and Technology (TRT UK) is the Reading based research centre forming part of Thales' network of centres situate in the UK, France, Netherlands and Singapore. We are defined by our people, around 100 science and engineering experts in a variety of technological domains. In this role you will contribute to real projects from the start whilst building experience in a variety of areas, such as innovation management, systems engineering, software engineering, digital signal processing, hardware design (digital and RF), vision processing, algorithm development are focused on the following domains:
Business Unit Information
This role is based in the Thales Optronics Business Unit within the Land Defence Domain. Thales Optronics designs and develops imaging, detection and search and track systems. The product range includes a wide range of thermal imaging cameras, electro-optic surveillance scanners, visible and near infra-red sights and sensors, infra-red search-and-track systems for land and airborne applications, laser rangefinders and target designators, fire control systems and turrets for armoured fighting vehicles as well as optronics masts and traditional submarine periscopes.
The Land Defence Domain overall addresses the needs of land forces including mounted and dismounted close combat, patrols, reconnaissance and counter-IED. The Division's capabilities include air defence solutions, weapon systems, precision effects, ammunition and imaging systems, as well as protected mobility solutions and counter-IED systems. These are used to enhance mobility, protection and lethality, providing an overall increase in operational effectiveness.
