What type of things will I be working on?
On this 1-year graduate scheme, starting September 2024, you will undergo 2, 6-month rotations, working on a variety of real-life projects across our operational and product division. This includes:
- Materials identification and characterisation
- Materials preparation skills
- Industrial manufacturing and assembly processes
- Inspection and analysis techniques by hands-on use of analytical equipment such as: Scanning Electron Microscopes, Spectrometers, Atomic Force Microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis
- Non-destructive testing including 2D X-ray and Industrial 3D X-ray computed tomography
- Destructive testing: Tensile testing, fatigue testing
You will develop a wide awareness and knowledge of engineering materials and practices, as well as identify any areas of personal interest for you to focus on for your future. Some elements will be designed to build your basic skills, whilst some will be set to test your maximum capabilities. You will be working closely with our operational and product division such as: Materials Analysis and Research, Encoder Products, Machine Tool Products and Additive Manufacturing.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites in New Mills, near Wotton-under Edge in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw sites are based in semi-rural locations, applicants must have their own form of transport or be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need and how do I apply?
We’re looking for passionate graduates expecting a 2:1 or above (or equivalent) in a relevant degree such as Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, Physics, etc.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in engineering will be strongly considered.
