Renishaw offers exciting opportunities for graduates on their development programmes designed to develop ambitious, talented, and self-motivated individuals into skilled experts in their chosen field.
What Will I Gain From This Graduate Scheme?
This programme will be based on a series of placements where you will work on real projects, aligned to your ambitions and interests, that will deliver tangible results to this global business. By investing in your personal development, we hope to build up and broaden your knowledge and experience to create a confident and skilled professional to prepare you for a meaningful role within one of our product or services divisions.
What Will I Be Doing On The Scheme?
Our graduate software engineers (integrated within our larger manufacturing graduate scheme) will follow a personalised and structured two-and-a-half-year programme.
You will experience both software development placements and rotate through functional areas within the manufacturing services division (including mechanical production engineering, electronics, and operational placements to broaden knowledge and understanding of the organisation and provide a set of skills that ordinarily you would not gain through a typical specialist graduate route).
Our aim is to provide you with a variety of software development methodologies and approaches, as well as core skills gathered as you rotate through different functional areas within the division. You will learn programming languages focusing on LabVIEW, but also C#, SQL, and PLC, and occasionally others depending upon the desired solution and platform that the software is to run on.
By the end of the scheme, you will understand the full process development function, including software, electronic, mechanical, and integration disciplines with excellent career progression opportunities and a meaningful role within our manufacturing services division. By investing in your personal development, we hope to build up and broaden your knowledge and experience to create a confident and skilled professional.
Where Will I Be Working?
This role is based at our site in Miskin, South Wales. There may be a requirement to spend time at our Gloucestershire sites (Woodchester, Wotton-under-Edge, or Stonehouse) as well, to give graduates the full experience of this division. As Renishaw sites are based in semi-rural locations, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the local area.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Graduates applying for this position should have a 2:2 or higher (or equivalent) in a technical discipline – software engineering, electronics, physics, robotics or other software or engineering-related field.
