What will I be doing on the scheme?
As a Graduate Embedded Software Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring Renishaw remains a market leader through developing and improving the firmware for our products and systems. Graduate Embedded Software Engineers are challenged to research, assist and develop complex, intelligent, reliable products for our market.
During your placements you will build on your existing skills through practical application. Your team manager will provide you with tasks which help move the product closer to delivery, some of which may be challenging or R&D based or require suitable autonomy whilst some more team based and interactive depending on business needs. The scheme also provides various training courses and support where considered necessary which is part of the process required in develop you into a professional engineer over the 2 years.
By the end of the scheme, you will have developed an idea of which area you would like to join as a full Embedded Software Engineer where your career can grow. Promotion in this stream is likely to take you down either a technical route to Senior and Principal Embedded Software Engineer leading a technical group of your own or heading up an area of responsibility, and even in the longer term toward taking a managerial route to become a Technical Manager.
Where will I be working?
This role is based at our New Mills site near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the local area. The site is around 25-30 minutes drive from Bristol so easily commutable by car.
What skills and qualifications do I need?
Graduates applying for this position should have a 2:2 or higher in a related discipline such as Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Physics, Mathematics or similar STEM degrees.
