What will I be doing on the scheme?
The Automation Software Engineering scheme runs for 2 years for each graduate and covers 4 placements within multiple divisions. During your placements, you will receive structured training and work on real and challenging tasks. These experiences will add to your academic qualifications to provide the breadth of knowledge and skills to equip graduates for successful careers within Renishaw.
There are also several structured training courses for all Automation Software Engineering graduates which have more generic application. The skills and knowledge areas we expect you to gain exposure to include:
- LabVIEW application development Windows or embedded targets
- C# application development
- PLC programming
- Test, Measurement and Automation System Design
- Assembly Systems Development
- SQL for database management, and reporting of product quality
- 6-Sigma and Problem Solving- Using the established “DMAIC” process of Design, Measure, Analyse, Improve Control
- Git/ Azure DevOps to understand Software development operations
To get the most out of the scheme and provide the greatest breadth of experience, management work closely with all graduates to ensure placements cover a broad mix of skills.
Where will I be working?
This role is based at our New Mills site near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the local area. The site is around 25-30 minutes drive from Bristol so easily commutable by car.
What skills and qualifications do I need?
Graduates applying for this position should have a 2:2 or higher in a related discipline such as Maths, Physics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering etc.
