Working within a team of creative and technical designers you will be coming up with creative, aesthetically pleasing and functional point of sale design concepts for a wide range of clients and product categories. You will work through the design process of initial ideation, sketching, 3D modelling and rendering, creation of brand graphics and presentation layout. You will need to design with the real world in mind as well as client’s budget, quantities, lifetime in-store and project timescales. You will be expected to explain and present your designs to both peers and the end client.
Key skills:
• Have an undergraduate degree in product or industrial design.
• Have undertaken a design related work placement or have the minimum of a year’s experience in industry.
• Experience with:
• Solidworks,
• Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Good ability to communicate design intent through sketching.
• Have a strong understanding of design principles and aesthetics.
• Good 2D presentation and graphical skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing principles, including injection moulding, vacuum forming, extrusion, metalworking and hand fabrication techniques.
• Confident explanation and presentation of your design decisions to peers, directors and the end client.
• Ability to work well both within a team and independently as required.
• Highly motivated, using good interpersonal skills to benefit your team particularly during pressured periods.
• Have an interest and enthusiasm for design as a whole.
Salary: £20 - £25k depending on experience
