Company

Role - Chemical Sales Manager
We have been asked to find a self-motivated chemistry graduate who is keen on using their scientific knowledge in a sales and account management career. This is a highly consultative and technical role - no "phone-bashing"!
Responsibilities:
- Account management - well over 100 existing customers to get to know, build/maintain relationships and develop sales strategies in person and over the phone (there will be plenty of travel!).
- Business development - once on top of existing customers, work with the business development manager to identify new prospects in the world of polymers. Use sales techniques to engage and bring on new business (very little "cold" calling).
- Inbound leads - following up quickly and efficiently with inbound sales enquiries.
- Content - create engaging, technical articles to be used on a range of topics in the world of polymers.
On offer:
- A close-knit environment, working with other outgoing chemistry graduates.
- Longevity - the last two graduates we recruited are still there 3 and 11 years on and have developed professionally and financially.
- Thorough training - close 1-2-1 mentoring, technical insight, and external training courses. They are even paying for the manager's MBA!
- Progression - as part of a large international group, long-term opportunities are varied.
- Competitive salary - around £30k for a recent graduate and more for those with post-graduate work. experience. Realistically another £5k on top in year 1 with commission, company car (plug-in hybrid).
Profile
- 2.1 (or equivalent) or higher in a chemistry-related discipline.
- An interest in chemicals, composites, polymers, minerals, catalysts - that sort of thing!
- Great relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Those with experience in sales are of course of interest, however post-grad lab-based work is also very welcome.
- Driving license and happy to travel.
