Overview
Have you recently graduated from university and looking for the opportunity to learn, grow and develop within an industry-leading business? If so, we are offering graduates the opportunity to complete a 2-year placement with ourselves which will be split between our logistics and shipping divisions across numerous locations in the UK & Ireland. With a current group turnover of £2bn, DFDS is one of the largest shipping & logistics leaders in Europe.
The Graduate Role
Over a two-year rotational programme starting February 2022, you will gain knowledge and experience to build your understanding of our business, our customers, and the wider industry. During your 24-month programme you will take part in 4 placements, these could be at any of our 20+ sites throughout the UK and Ireland so a willingness to travel and relocate is essential. You will be given a full location and training plan at the point of offer.
The programme consists of four six-month placements within multiple operational functions gaining experience within the following areas:
- Sales account management
- Transport planning co-ordination
- Customer service
- Data analysis
- Project management
Within each team, a mentor will be assigned to support integration into the organisation and development of each graduate through the programme with the requirement to complete the following:
- Be responsible for day to day activities in the role
- Work on a key project
- Write a report at the end of each placement with recommendations for improvement
- Assist in the recruitment process for the next cohort of graduates
What you will need to be successful?

You will be a motivated individual who can work in an ever-changing environment. You will be curious, adaptable, collaborative, analytical, commercially aware, and most of all you will be someone who can contribute and share best practice. You will have achieved a minimum of a 2:1 degree, and obtain a full UK driving license (or have a test booked).
