As part of Brit’s growing Global Specialty, the Graduate Underwriter position will see you gain the skills and experience you need to become a qualified underwriter with limitless opportunities in the industry.

This scheme consists of a two-year rotational placement around our specialist divisions. During that time you’ll have the opportunity to work in a number of different departments and projects in your chosen function to broaden your experience, build relationships with colleagues and learn from our experts in the market.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting underwriters with the day-to-day running of the designated division.
• Assisting in the preparation of statistics, trend analysis, business proposals, data entry and data processing.
• To input information from brokers both pre and post Underwriter meetings and visits.
• Participating in various stages of broker information management and working alongside the finance department to resolve issues.
• You won’t find yourself sat behind a desk all day, you’ll be out building relationships with clients and brokers for meetings and social events (in some very exciting locations!)

What do I need?

We’re looking for candidates who have achieved or be on course for a 2:1 in any discipline and are available to start in September 2024.

No experience in insurance is required, if you have a willingness to learn, strong communication skills and an eye for detail, you could be our next Graduate Underwriter.
