The number of IT industry jobs is on the rise, particularly for graduates, as financial services have opened up new vacancies in recent times, according to Dan Hawes, co-founder of the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, a recruitment agency.
"There are certain sectors leading the way, like financial services, investment banking and the like," Mr Hawes said. "IT, retail and FMCG [fast-moving consumer goods] are all areas we're very busy with at the moment," he said.
