Aldi To Hire More Graduates In 2010

Discount retailer Aldi has said it is planning to recruit more graduates in 2010 than it has this year.

Discount retailer Aldi has said it is planning to recruit more graduates in 2010 than it has this year.

With the onset of the recruitment season, leading employers in the public, banking and manufacturing sectors in the UK have showed signs of recovery as they prepare to hire more people in 2010.

Aldi stands third among this year's Top 100 Graduate Employers. This is based on research on graduates being asked, "which employer do you think offers the best opportunities for graduates?".

The discount supermarket chain offers trainee managers ??40,000 salary and an Audi A4 company car.

Dan Ronald, managing director of Aldi, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have pulled ahead of so many long established graduate recruiters, and to have made the top three for the first time.

"Aldi may be well known for it's eye catching starting salary, but the real reason people work here is for the responsibility, challenges, the rapid career progression, and the chance to drive a growing business forward."

Teach First, a scheme that recruits exceptional graduates, has also been expected to take on around 700 in 2010 to work in schools and universities.
