Marquee Riggers Required (Summer 2015)
The Stretch Tent Company hires Stretch Tents and ancillary equipment for private and corporate events, festivals and shows. Stretch Tents are an increasingly popular new form of marquee with more flexibility and style than the traditional tents.
We require crew for marquee rigging, marquee cleaning and warehouse duties from May/June through to mid-September 2015. Although based in Milton Keynes the work will involve travel throughout the UK.
Job Description
The role involves being part of a team that will deliver Stretch Tent events across the UK. Most of the work will involve rigging and de-rigging stretch tents and associated equipment at client sites, with some cleaning and maintenance of equipment at our warehouse in preparation for events. Rigging stretch tents is a challenging and extremely satisfying summer job – perfect for those that have regular winter commitments such as university, college or ski seasons.
Job Requirements
We are looking for riggers who are reliable, intelligent, physically fit, strong and happy to work outside in all weather conditions. You will be a practical person with a can do attitude who is able to work efficiently with your hands, enjoys physical work and has the confidence and initiative to work independently at times.
You must be able to work within a team, be able to demonstrate a desire to provide a top quality product and deliver a very high standard of service through careful attention to detail and a courteous and professional manner. You will be responsible not only for your own health and safety, but also that of the team and those around you, and eventually the ultimate user of the tents.
The job is based at our depot in Broughton, Milton Keynes. Ideally you will leave within 45 minutes and you will need your own transport to arrive at the depot by 0700hrs. You must be willing at times to work long, unsocial hours including evenings and weekends and may be required to work at short notice and occasionally stay away.
Pay (per hour)
Trainee Rigger £7.25
Rigger £8.00
Rigger with driving responsibilities £8.50
Season completion bonus £0.75 per hour worked
The hours will vary from week to week. You can expect approximately 50 to 60 hours per week which, for the period 1st June to 18th Sept equates to 750 to 900 hours. For those that complete this period, working full-time, an additional bonus of £0.75 per hour worked will be rewarded. With holiday pay (12%) and this season completion bonus crew can expect to earn £7,350 to £9,000 for 16 weeks work.
Intakes
Suitable candidates will join the company in May or June. Due to the seasonal nature of the work, crew requirements increase as demand increases to peak season in June & July.
