What will I be doing?

Version 1’s Academy is a fantastic route into the world of DevOps and Cloud Engineering. We train you over 3 months in our intensive Academy and then upon the successful completion of the training your employment continues with us as you go on to join our projects as an Associate Consultant.

On the course, you will take part in classroom-style learning in a small group, with lots of 1-2-1 support and regular assessments. You will build your understanding of DevOps, Cloud and Automation tools by building labs, environments, and platforms.

You will meet Version 1 Mentors and Senior Technologists to learn how to practically use new skills in a Consultancy role. Also, you will work with great trainers on your presentation and customer facing skills. The Academy includes Company Days at your local Version 1 office, where you will have the opportunity to meet the Early Careers team, Version 1 colleagues, and other Academy Associates.

• Upon successful completion of the training programme, you will be offered a permanent position as an Associate Consultant in Version 1 with starting salary of £28,000 (annual salary), with 3 pay increases over the course of 18 months.

What skills do I need to have?

• University degree classification 2:2 in any discipline or a Level 5 qualification in an ICT or STEM subject
• You love getting stuck into problem-solving and you don’t give up easily
• You have an affinity for technology (e.g. Software Development, Cloud, Data, DevOps)
• Some coding experience would be beneficial but not essential
• Willingness to travel across the Version 1 organisations
• Eligible to work in the UK and/or Ireland
• An added bonus if you have previous IT work experience or you participated in a Tech Bootcamp/course

Academy training is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority - to secure a place you need to reside in one of the below Local Enterprise Partnership - Areas:
