Renishaw offers exciting opportunities for placement students on a year-long immersion programme designed to develop ambitious, talented, and self-motivated individuals into skilled experts in their chosen field.

What Will I Gain From This Placement Year?

Each placement will involve working on live projects under the guidance and expertise of experienced colleagues. As well as gaining hands on experience in your chosen field, you will have the opportunity to connect with people working in the business and discuss your career ambitions and ideas with employees in similar roles. 

What Will I Be Doing On This Placement?

Our sustainability placements work on a variety of tasks that support Renishaw’s overall sustainability goals, including a commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 at the latest, with an ambition to bring this forward by 5-10 years. To achieve this, our Group Sustainability Team is being expanded to help transform our greenhouse gas emissions and approach to sustainability.

You will work closely with other members of the sustainability team and with stakeholders across the business to drive forward projects that help lower carbon emissions, measure and reduce the carbon footprint for individual products (life cycle analysis) and progress our wider sustainable development goals (SDGs). You will also work closely with our corporate communications team to develop content that will educate and give progress updates for both internal and external audiences and maintain the sustainability sections of the company’s website and intranet site.

Where Will I Be Working?

This role is based at our New Mills site near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the local area. The site is around 25-30 minutes drive from Bristol so easily commutable by car.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

Students applying for this position should have studied in/be studying disciplines in relevant subjects including sustainability, environmental management, environmental law, renewable energy and business management.
