What type of things will I be working on?
On this 12-month industrial placement, starting September 2025, you will work within our IT division. It's a varied role where you'll be providing fast, efficient, and diligent support to keep our global workforce productive when using technology in their own jobs.
Day-to-day you'll be:
- Solving faults relating to business-critical applications e.g. printing from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Responding to service requests for new PCs, printers, and accessories
- Resolving queries relating to Renishaw's standard PC applications including MS: Office, Visio and Project
All of this work will be guided by experienced professionals, who will help broaden and strengthen your technical and commercial skills.
By the end of the placement you'll have a substantial breadth of experience, and the opportunity to progress into one of Renishaw's competitive Graduate Schemes.

Where will I be working?
This role is based at one of our main sites near Wotton-under Edge in Gloucestershire. As Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants must ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options will be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need?
We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated students who are looking to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course.
We're open to students working towards a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. The following skills are also preferrable:
- A good understanding of Windows 10/11 and preferably Windows Server.
- An understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- An appreciation of Cyber Security principles.
- An appreciation of Cloud Services.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills and an understanding of the importance of customer service, perhaps gained through work-based experience.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in operations will be strongly considered.
