Mizuho Banking - Risk and European Credit Summer Internship

What will I be doing?

During this 10-week programme starting in June 2026, you’ll be placed within either the Risk Management Department (RMD) or the Europe Credit Department (ECD) based on your strengths and preference.

Risk Management Department (RMD)

• Responsible for measuring, monitoring, and reporting risks across trading and origination activities.
• Implementing risk frameworks consistent with the bank’s appetite and resources.
• Teams include Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Model Risk, Risk Analytics, and more.

Europe Credit Department (ECD)

• Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the quality of the loan book across Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
• Approving lending facilities, reviewing portfolios, and analysing company and industry credit risk.
• Teams include Industry Specialists, Project Finance, Structured Finance, Corporate Research, and Problem Credits/Restructuring.

Your experience will include:

• Rotations across different teams within your department.
• Exposure to real deals and projects, with hands-on learning.
• Understanding how credit and risk are assessed and managed in a global bank.
• Focused training and mentorship in a supportive environment.

Successful interns will be offered a place on our Graduate Programme starting in September 2027.

What are we looking for? 

You must be:

• In your penultimate year of undergraduate study, with an expected graduation in 2027 (please ensure this is clearly stated on your CV and updated on your GRB profile). 
• Available for full-time employment from September 2027.
