The Company
Our client is a rapidly expanding management and technical consultancy specialising in helping government and public sectors deliver complex projects to challenging timescales.
Areas of specialism include cyber security, mission critical communications, analytics and agile processes.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading technologies within the business. This will include responding to support requests and maintaining services, plus development of new systems and services.
The role will also provide a great platform to progress into a consultancy role, should this be a route you'd like to go down. You will be provided the opportunity to participate in training courses and gain experience in consulting areas before engaging in client facing activities. As a consultant you will then be responsible for the advising on technology and development work for a variety of UK public sector organisations.
Day to day duties:
-Maintenance of company information systems
-1st line support
-Liaising with IT suppliers
-Monitoring systems to ensure system health and security
-Maintenance of firewall and gateway security policies
-Responding to security alerts
-Carrying out development work of new information services
What We're Looking For
- Bsc in Computer Science, information systems or other similar subject
- Experience or knowledge of securing information systems
- Understanding of networking principles
- Understanding of virtual infrastructure
- Ability and desire to learn and test new technologies and integrate with existing systems
