This graduate software test automation role at a leading medical devices company will see you developing automation scripts and testing software that controls complex hardware, with many moving parts.
The company makes state-of-the-art life-saving medical devices to treat potentially terminal illnesses, so you will be genuinely making a difference to many people's lives with your work.
You will gain exposure to low level control systems coding, mainly with C++, as well as C# .Net.
Salary progression is excellent and you will receive increases until you finish the two-year scheme, at which point you will achieve a salary of £42K.
Responsibilities:
- Identify scenarios for manual and automated software testing, according to the overall project specifications
- Develop and execute automated test scripts
- Work to improve test methods, including the test automation framework
- Attend the hardware test facilities to develop a strong understanding of the full system under test
- Work as part of an agile team with senior testers and developers at all levels
- Provide feedback to the team lead on testing processes and offer advice on improvements
- 2:1 or above (or equivalent) in electrical and electronics engineering, computer science, software engineering or related.
- A keen interest in coding - the particular languages are not important. You could be an electronics engineering graduate with strong C or C++, or a computer science graduate with strong Java, for example.
- Ideally, you will have some software testing experience, or be able to show some knowledge of the area which has sparked your interest for this kind of role. Previous experience is not essential, provided you have good coding knowledge
- Extra-curricular activities are a bonus, to show that you are proactive and can interact well with people.
- Available to start work in September.
