The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and professional individual to join our Practice as an Internal Audit trainee. The role offers candidates an excellent opportunity to develop expertise across a range of functions. The focus will be mainly on auditing and assisting with the delivery of internal audits from the corporate internal audit plan, but there will also be opportunities to undertake other duties within our wider business resilience team.
Internal audit: Internal audit seek to fill the trusted business advisor role, and are responsible for the objective review of control operation and design within an entity. Once trained, your role within Internal Audit will be to perform investigative and control testing, (across all departments, financial, strategic, and operational), and compliance reviews, including supporting the Head of Internal Audit and Risk where required.
Responsibilities include: Performing financial, strategic, compliance, and operational audits. Fieldwork will involve (but not be limited to):
- Understanding and documenting processes through walkthroughs;
- Key control testing;
- Substantive testing of audit samples;
- Review of policies and procedures;
- Identification and documentation of deficiencies, control improvement opportunities, and general non-conformities; and developing appropriate recommendations to help the organisation improve;
- Participate in special projects and assignments as necessary;
- Write up of audit results with reference and support of appropriate evidence;
- Assist with drafting of final audit reports; and Ongoing liaison and effective communication with management and co-source.
