This group operates and maintains all modes of transportation including buses, metros, tramways and rail systems.
Locations: Full geographical mobility - 7 key UK locations: London United, London Sovereign, Bournemouth, Bath, Manchester, Epsom, Selwyns (Runcorn)
We have an exclusive opportunity for an engineering graduate to join a highly regarded 2 year rotational management scheme within a leading transport group. The programme will offer graduates a route to management in just 2 years!
Successful graduates will join a structured, varied and extensive programme, gaining a full understanding of the way the business is run from head office functions to interacting with customers.
Whilst learning to become management material, you will gain exposure into several different placements. The areas that you can work in on the scheme aren't set in stone but the programme can include:
- Staff management
- Route planning and transport operations
- Fleet Engineering
- Engineering Management
- Engineering safety
- Accident prevention and risk management
- Communications and PR
- Schedules and allocation
- Bus driver training
- Finance
- HR and Marketing
Much of your programme will be similar to the generalist management programme being run alongside this scheme. However as an engineer, you will also get a chance to put on some overalls and get your hands dirty!
You will work with frontline engineers on routine maintenance and find out more about the supervisory and management roles within engineering. You will learn how they set and maintain high quality standards in a high risk regulated environment.
You will also be offered a fantastic level of training throughout the programme and will gain development training in the following:

- Disciplinary and grievance management skills
- Performance management
- Union and employee relationships
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Report Writing
- General management and leadership skills
- Interview skills
Candidate profile
- 2:1 or above in Engineering either, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace, General Engineering OR related
- Full geographical mobility
- Natural leadership qualities and management potential
- Strong administration skills
- Great communication skills
- A keen interest in Logistics and Transport
- Driving licence (desirable – not essential)
