Policy Graduate Scheme

Build a career in policy where your analysis can help shape responsible financial services. This two-year Policy Graduate Scheme in Guernsey offers hands-on policy experience, professional study, international exposure and clear opportunities to progress.

The Company

Based in Guernsey, you’ll join a public sector organisation that plays an important role in maintaining high standards across financial services. You’ll work in a supportive, collaborative environment where learning, mentorship and professional development are encouraged. The organisation also invests in ESG initiatives, with a target to become carbon neutral by 2030. Guernsey offers a close-knit community, strong links to the UK and an alternative to city-based living.

The Role

As a Policy Graduate, you’ll gain practical experience across two 12-month rotations, with opportunities spanning areas such as Banking, Investment, Fiduciary and Pensions, and Digital Finance. You’ll contribute to policy development, analyse complex issues and work with stakeholders to understand different perspectives. Alongside your role, you’ll receive training and study support towards the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). You’ll strengthen your research, writing, analysis and meeting management skills while gaining confidence with senior stakeholders. With plenty of room to learn and grow, the scheme can support progression into Senior Policy Analyst and future management roles.

Key responsibilities:

  • Draft policy and regulatory changes using research, analysis and stakeholder insight.
  • Engage stakeholders and manage differing perspectives to support effective policy development.
  • Analyse financial services issues and assess risks linked to significant transactions.
  • Take accurate minutes from meetings and capture key actions and decisions.
  • Build financial markets knowledge through funded IMC study and training.
  • Develop policy expertise across two specialist rotations.

Benefits and Perks

You’ll join a collaborative workplace with a supportive approach to development, wellbeing and professional growth. As well as a starting salary of £36k, you will also get the following benefits:

  • Funded Investment Management Certificate (IMC), with full study support
  • £2,500 relocation allowance
  • 12% pension contribution
  • Annual salary reviews
  • Performance-based discretionary bonus scheme
  • Potential international travel to locations including Paris, Toronto and Gibraltar
  • Training, mentoring and progression opportunities
  • Supportive culture with no overtime expectation
