The Company
This successful consultancy specialise in transport planning, developments and the design and improvement of infrastructure. They provide services to both private and public organisations and their work ranges from undertaking initial assessments and presenting findings to clients, through to the design and successful implementation of projects.
The Role
They are seeking a graduate with an interest in all things related to transport planning and infrastructure.
Working on a variety of projects, you will be collaborating with an innovative team, supporting senior colleagues and receiving excellent training and support from a personal mentor.
You can expect to be involved in:
- Assisting in preparing technical reports and assessments to support planning applications.
- Advising on planning and urban regeneration projects.
- Analysing transport and highways issues and coming up with innovative and cost effective improvements.
- Maintaining client relationships as well as relationships with councils and other professional agencies to deliver projects.
- Preparing diagrams and detailed design drawings.
- Attending site visits as well as client meetings.
As you progress in this position there is huge scope to gain responsibility in managing your own projects. Your continual development is key and there are excellent opportunities and support to achieve chartership and other professional qualifications along the way.
This role is to start ASAP.
Requirements
- A degree in either Civil Engineering, Geography or similar.
- A evident interest in the transport planning and development sector.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- An analytical mind set.
- Knowledge and experience in software (AutoCAD, Picady, Arcady).
- Computer literate (Excel, Word).
Desired skills
- A knowledge and understanding of Planning Regulatory Framework and transport and planning policy.
- Knowledge of relevant highway standards.
