A world leader in supplying mini printers. Design and manufacturing is all in-house and they also provide a large amount of other bespoke equipment such as software solutions, interfaces, printer mechanisms and more. They operate across a number of industries such as industrial, medical, retail and transport. Established in the early 80's they are a growing success and offer a great career to any new employees.
This new position will involve you primarily providing front line technical support to customers for their products, mainly by phone and email. You will also be providing support for the sales team in developing new customers and improving and promoting the company brand, with some electronic design opportunities as your career develops.
Day to day duties will include:
- Handling of incoming technical support queries, primarily by phone or email, and provision of 'front line' technical support for their products.
- Support for the sales team in developing new customers, and improving and promoting the company brand.
- Creation and maintenance of technical literature and marketing materials (including online content and stand-alone documents).
Additional functions to be taken on over time:
- Identification of opportunities for special developments. Working to define and agree specifications with customers, leading to design and development as appropriate (these may be minor tweaks or full product developments).
- Provision of support for mobile and desktop platforms (e.g. Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, Blackberry, etc.)
- Development of configuration utilities to support their products.
- Support to production for manufacturing issues, provision and maintenance of test equipment, production documentation, test procedures and software as required.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified with a minimum 2:2 level in Electronic or Electrical Engineering; we can also consider Computer Science graduates who are interested in Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrable ability to work in a customer focused environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and respond confidently to problems.
- You must be a driven individual with multi-tasking abilities.
- Ideally you will have some customer orientated experience gained outside of your degree and experience from your degree or work experience in developing embedded hardware and software for real-time and mobile systems.
