A global market leader in technology solutions for the digital industry.
This large international software development house and IT solutions provider seeks a graduate technical consultant to train across various teams within the company, before specialising in a particular software product and providing Consultancy services to high profile clients.
You will gain an overview of a wide variety of software products, the implementation process and clients' businesses, before specialising in a particular solution and working with clients throughout the software development life-cycle.
Solutions will be developed to suit the individual client's business, so you will gather requirements from the client at the start of the project, assist with designing the solution and work with various teams to ensure the software meets specification. You will implement the software on client site and work to transfer data onto the new system to get your client up and running with the solution.
There will be opportunities for international travel and you are likely to have the chance to visit one of the company's international offices during your first year.
Responsibilities:
- Learn about the various software modules and become an expert in a particular software product.
- Help clients to design the software solution.
- Work with various teams within the company to ensure the software meets clients' requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients throughout the software development life-cycle.
- Make presentations and run workshops to teach clients about the functionality of the software.
- Programme to tweak the software, to suit individual clients' needs.
- Test software on client site to ensure it is working smoothly and make changes or arrange for changes to be made by developers as appropriate.
- Create documentation with instructions for clients to follow in order to utilise the software's full potential.
- Spend around three to four days per week on client site, mainly within London, but occasionally further afield.
Requirements:
- 2:1 or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Maths, Physics, Engineering or related.
- Happy to interact and collaborate with people on a daily basis and to work on client site the majority of the time.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of programming, particularly web development and Java experience.
- Work experience, internships or a year in industry.
