A creative and challenging headhunting firm whose expertise allows them to cover all public and private industry sectors. The majority of their work is at senior executive level although they are also prepared to work with their most trusted clients on identifying and acquiring rising talent. The company truly believes in striving to make a positive impact on industry through talent leadership management, and are committed to working with high profile organisations within academia and charity. They view their research methodology as the factor that sets them apart from the rest, and as such, Research Associates are among the most crucial hires they make.
The successful candidates will join my client's research team, who support the consulting team. You will largely be responsible for creatively researching and identifying executives for positions within the public sector, education and general commerce.
The role of a Research Associate is ultimately to identify and attract senior level executives for project briefs which are sourced by the consulting team. A research assignment begins when the consulting team wins the exclusive right to work on a client remit. They will inform the research team of the company details, the role, the unique selling points and the ideal person specification.
From this brief you will be responsible for 'mapping the universe' of potential candidates who may be suitable and interested. You will be using a variety of creative sources such as online and print media to find all relevant contacts and calling individuals who will either be direct candidates or vital sources of advice. Essentially you are looking to find a shortlist of candidates who are suitable and interested in the vacancy.
You will be speaking to high net-worth individuals from the very early stages of your training. You will have to be self-motivated as you will be responsible for your own output, although support is naturally given from all teams.
All Research Associates will complete a three month training period and spend up to two years on assignment delivery. In this time extra duties such as internal recruitment or training and development are encouraged for further fulfilment. After your competencies in research are maximised there are a number of career development avenues that can be explored, including moving into consulting or developing a research team in new markets.
Ideally we are looking for graduates who have at least nine months of post-graduate work experience in a professional environment, preferably in a researching or sales capacity.
We can only consider applicants with high-class academic backgrounds. This means that you will need to have straight A grades at A-level and a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree from a leading university.
You will often be attempting to obtain confidential or personal information from new individuals. Given this you will have to have first rate communication skills, be interesting to speak to and have a personable phone manner.
We would love to hear from enthusiastic, energetic and spirited individuals who have an appetite for close teamwork and who are interested in commerce, academia and the public sector.
