The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an electrical engineering graduate who is interested in pursuing a varied and practical career as a controls engineer.
This is a diverse and challenging role that will focus on your development and give you a fantastic range of experiences. The company will support you towards becoming chartered, mentoring you through the process, as well as providing excellent training in a huge facility where machinery is researched, developed, tested, designed and built on site.
You will be based in the technical team at the company head office in Peterborough. You will become a vital member of the team seeing your electrical designs for new and existing machinery and equipment being developed - following your projects through from start to finish and experiencing all aspects of this including manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning. You will work closely with other departments to provide specific designs to client budget and to technical requirements.
Duties will be varied and include:
- Developing and producing PLC software
- Designing, specifying and issuing electrical hardware parts list and control panels
- Technical requirements specification for equipment
- Testing equipment
- Researching new products that could be developed
There is the opportunity to travel internationally in this position and to progress towards management.
Requirements:
- A passion for engineering and a degree in electrical engineering
- Excellent CAD skills and experience with PLC programming
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willing to travel internationally for work at least twice a year
