Graduate Bid Writer
What is a bid writer? A bid writer is someone who is responsible for conducting research around topic areas and completing tenders in order to secure new contracts. Bid writing is a fantastic career for someone with strong writing skills and an interest in business.
In this role you need a logical mind set, strong writing capabilities and the ability to research around a given topic. No two bids are the same, you work as part of a team and you could be helping to write a tender to secure a contract worth anywhere from £50K to £20 million.
The role is based in Stevenage and the salary on offer is £18-21K, with opportunities for promotion. The role is to start in January 2021.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Reviewing requirements for pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ's), including writing answers and coordinating work with your line manager. Think of this part as qualification of the tender.
- Secondarily you will be involved in tender submissions, which includes, reviewing submissions, coordinating with wider team, arranging launch meetings, conducting research, writing answers for the tender, logistics and tender review. Furthermore, this includes creating content and page layouts for submission using Adobe Creative Suite.
- You could also be involved in some marketing, business development and administration.
What do You Need?
- Strong writing capabilities, perhaps from a degree such as English, history or journalism.
- A good eye for detail and layout, which may come from some experienced with Adobe packages such as InDesign.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Deadline driven.
