The Company
Established in 2002 this company's products develop, implement and support a comprehensive suite of market data products, including real-time market data feeds, a commercial publishing suite and traditional quote terminals.
Their fast-growing operations are currently staffed by over 100 people across four offices in the US and UK. They are becoming a well known player in their market place.
The Role
Based in Cambridge, this firm is looking to hire an additional graduate to join them as 1st line support engineers.
You will be providing customer support using the client's services and software, as well as providing 1st line monitoring alerts of the client's servers.
This is a technical position requiring good analytical and problem solving skills. Being competent with Linux command line tools is useful but not essential as internal guides are provided. The successful candidates will be given training in real-time market data systems and other applicable technology.
The successful candidate must be able to patiently handle customer requirements and troubleshoot both technical and non-technical questions. The position will work closely with other support members in the client's global offices, including APAC and the US.
The role is mainly a client support role but may well involve working for the deployment team too on other service delivery related tasks.
The ideal applicant will be a confident, well-spoken individual who is generally technically competent, able to follow processes, and be generally logically minded.
Please note that this role involves shift patterns and will likely be 15:00 - 23.30 Monday to Friday.
Requirements:
- Technical or analytical degree (if it's the latter some exposure to coding will be required).
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and systematic problem solving skills.
- Strong customer focus.
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure of time.
- Ability to handle multiple maintenance projects and work to strict maintenance windows.
- Can-do attitude.
- Happy to work shift patterns (including weekend work).
