This London-based role sits within a specialist AI and Data engineering environment, with hybrid working across office, client and remote settings. You’ll work alongside experienced engineering, AI and consulting teams, with significant exposure to varied industries, emerging technologies and senior decision-makers.
The Role
As a Lead AI Engineer you’ll shape the architecture, development and operational delivery of advanced AI and Generative AI solutions. You’ll work directly with senior stakeholders to translate business challenges into scalable technical strategies, while leading engineering teams through complex production deployments. The role spans LLMs, RAG, modern AI frameworks, cloud platforms, MLOps and responsible AI. You’ll also influence technical direction, evaluate emerging technologies and create reusable approaches that strengthen delivery across major client engagements.
- Lead AI architecture and Generative AI strategies aligned with client business objectives.
- Design and deliver production-grade AI pipelines across data, models, evaluation and deployment.
- Architect scalable solutions using LLMs, RAG, vector databases and generative AI techniques.
- Oversee secure AI deployments, evaluation frameworks, monitoring and responsible AI guardrails.
- Influence senior stakeholders and translate complex AI concepts into practical business outcomes.
- Guide cross-functional teams, sharing technical expertise and establishing reusable engineering practices.

Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced AI architect who combines deep technical capability with strong consulting and stakeholder skills.
Must-Have
- Enterprise experience delivering complex AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI solutions into production.
- Expert Python skills with strong experience across PyTorch, TensorFlow and modern AI frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, fine-tuning and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of MLOps, LLMOps, CI/CD, monitoring, governance and AI security.
- Experience across AWS, Azure or GCP, ideally with a cloud-agnostic architecture perspective.
- Confident communication with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary technical teams.
