Ever thought of a career in sails?

We’re looking for personally competent dinghy sailors holding their Royal Yachting Association Seamanship award to join our intensive sail training programme and then work as instructors at our market-leading watersports activity centres across the UK’s South Coast, Southern France and Spain.

You’ll need to hold your RYA Seamanship award to demonstrate your level of personal competency and be available for our training programme for April 2012 to be considered for this role. However if you have this and possess the drive and enthusiasm to succeed, we’ll help you to progress to your RYA Dinghy Instructor or Assistant Instructor qualification and beyond free of charge.

We offer the opportunity to live and work in some stunning sailing locations, including the sun-soaked golden beaches of the French Mediterranean Coast, Spanish Costa Brava, Isle of Wight and Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

PGL Travel Ltd is the UK’s leading provider of residential activity holidays and educational study courses for young people. We operate at centres across the UK, France and Spain, giving more than 400,000 young guests an experience to remember each year.

We offer fantastic training and qualifications opportunities including apprenticeships and NVQs – all offered free of charge on the provision that you complete your contract of employment with us. Our training programmes can save you in excess of £2,000 if you were to self-fund your qualifications and take place at our centre on the French Mediterranean coast. All accommodation, meals and transport to resort from a UK pick up point is included.

This role offers the perfect chance if you’re interested in developing your career and coaching abilities in the outdoor industry but have little previous experience as we provide all the necessary training to give you the skills and expertise to do your job. Our Watersports Instructors can gain their Apprenticeship in Active Leisure and Learning at Level 2 and 3 as well Royal Yachting Association coaching awards. Plus with more than 250 senior roles available every season, there’s plenty of opportunity for career progression including Sailing Team Leaders, Assistant Chief Instructors and beyond.

All training and qualifications are offered free of charge on the provision that you complete your contract of employment with us. Many of our senior watersports staff members joined us in this role, progressing to their present roles as a result of our Apprenticeship programme and development opportunities.

This is a residential role, with an accommodation package and meals included. You’ll also receive a competitive wage, free uniform (no bond required), return transport to resort from a UK pick up point if working overseas. We also offer the opportunity to live and work in a supportive environment with people from around the world, where the emphasis is on fun!

Please click through to visit our website to find out more, view our centre locations, use our chat forum and apply online via our My PGL account facility.

Help to give our guests the time of their lives ... while you have yours!

PGL is committed to the principles of equality and diversity: we welcome applications from all members of the community. You must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for a role with PGL.
